Justified Fen! Go. Read. Now. (Really)
OMFG.
The old Yule Goat, he loves me so.
I got Justified fic this year, and I was kinda disappointed earlier this week when I figured that was likely what I was getting because it’s so much harder to do well than either of my other two requests.
I need not have feared. So very much not. This story will add so much depth to my enjoyment of the show. She gave me a side of Tim I hadn’t thought of before, and now it’s totally head canon for me. She gave him to me in brilliant second person and she gave me some wonderful Raylan too, both drawn crystalline in spare lines and shades. It’s a short piece (about 1k), but powerful, managing to give me shining characterizations along with pain and pathos and comfort, and the kind of bravery that makes my head spin while others might not notice it at all.
How the author managed to hit on so many of my kinks (narrative and the other kind) is a true mystery, but I’d rather bask in the effects than solve it.

snarkgoddess, the title is from a Fight Club quote and, while I love it, it’s not entirely appropriate to the story, especially for someone with your buttons. The story will not even touch your suicide squick, I swear.
