AtS Comment Fic

Written for [info]amara_m  's orphaned prompt in her commentfic thread: Angel/Wes, taste

Warmth fills his mouth and rolls on his tongue, dark and familiar, hot with stubborn denial, touched with just a spark of hope. Something deep down stirs and he swallows, letting just a little roll down and then he's gulping it in, feeling it rush down his throat. Desperation chases it into his belly and he sucks in more and more, drawing on that steadfast pulse - nothing has ever tasted like this, nothing has ever felt so alive, pulsing under his mouth, pumping and pushing life into his water-logged soul, demanding he take and take and he does, he takes it all, desperate to feel this life fill him, to feel it coursing through his veins and rushing through him, its hot-sweet taste pushing all that salt, all that pain and isolation and *hunger* out-out-out, uncompromising, insistent, flooding him with warmth and desperation and *home*, spreading in then outwards as it pumps through his heart, filling his veins to bursting, pounding in his arteries, singing through his soul, demanding he rise up and claim this man, this man who has always been his.

Posted originally here. I'd've sworn I only went there to  see what she was talking about. Not quite sure where this came from (other than the fact that I've always had a thing for this particular moment in the fandom...)

*happy sigh* Oh, how I love my vampires. I am way behind on reading all the yummy comment porn, so happy you posted here too! I love how this is both incredibly physical but also so much more than just physical.

I'm glad I could give you a moment of vampy goodness! I miss them, lots. Possibly more than Joss in general, even - though I really wish they'd stop dragging their heels on Dollhouse...

Ooo. Begs the question: before or after death? - With the claiming, I mean. Just how primitive are these instincts?

[shivers] The risk one always takes when consorting with vampires, I suppose.

Makes me hunger for the rest. [looks at date and pouts]

You've doubled my comments to this ficlet! ::does happy dance::

Yeah, it's a little ambiguous about that, isn't it? Honestly, I don't think Angel sees the difference right then. Wes either, at least by that point... thought I'm pretty sure he had a fairly strong opinion earlier.

And yeah, I'd like the rest too. I don't know if I was just in the wrong part of the fandom then or what, but I remain surprised at how little fic that scene (and it's surrounds, but that's the one that hits all the buttons) generated. There should have been unmissible tons!

Someday, I will (maybe) write the epic angel/wes, angel/spike, spike/buffy angel/buffy thing that continues to claw at my brain whenever I get too close to season 4 Angel or season 6 Buffy...

Oh, that would be... [eyes universe determinedly]

You are not the only one confused by the dearth of fic around that scene. Such gorgeous Angel/Wes. How does that not become... One can only speculate.

Ack! Don't do that! I've been resisting writing this fic for more than five years now (in my head, it's known simply as the one where Angel goes to get Spike). I have practice.

Thought it is getting harder to do now that I'm writing.

Still.

One freaking EPIC at a time!

Oh, very well. I suppose I will just have to content myself with your post-apocolyptic monster. I haven't read it yet. I'm think Christmas will be the perfect time. [casts eyes at family]

Well, Christmas is the perfect time for apocalyptic reading. There might even be more of it by then. RL has to let me write again eventually, right?

::does sooper sekret happy dance of new reader anticipation::
