Comment_Fic: Just Another Dead World (Doctor Who, Eleven, PG13)

I comment fic'd again. It's always hard for me to resist a good apocaprompt.

This one's Doctor Who (which, for those of you keeping track, is another new freaking fandom for me).

Let's say it gets a PG13 for depressing themes. (And thus, you are warned.)

It's just another apocalypse, just another dead world in the galaxy of dead worlds buried in his hearts.

He didn't even know them. He hadn't met a single one of the million five dead. Not a single one.

He turns and wretches, a violent uprising of everything he's ever even thought of eating, all over the vegetation to his left. The smell of his sick saturates the air. The plants collapse under the weight of it, crumbling into dust like they'd never been.

His hearts hammer in his chest and sweat coats his skin. The wind kicks up and coats him in dust - dust that until just yesterday had been children and shopkeeps and retirees and pets and plants...

He picks himself up off the ground and apologizes, wordlessly, to the plant. A short walk brings him back to the Tardis. He shuts the door behind him, closing it firmly on another world he'll never see.

He wishes, desperately, that this was actually the worst vacation spot he'd ever chosen, and sets the Tardis off blindly, not at all sure he can do better.
